Wanda K. Whitaker, President and Director of Marketing

Wanda Whitaker's background covers over 25 years of event marketing and planning, media and public relations experience resulting in the creation of Whitaker & Associates, a cause-related marketing consultancy agency in 1992. Her skills include mentoring, life coaching and training in an emotional healing technique that utilizes a numerical mapping process for eliminating energy interference patterns held in the body and DNA.

Ms. Whitaker has worked with many nonprofit organizations servicing the socially and economically challenged including working as a counselor at Charilla group homes in San Francisco, California and the Independent Living Skills program for at-risk youth. She won the Volunteer of the Year award for YWCA's "Girl's Mean Business" Program and served on the board of directors of La Casa de las Madres, a shelter for battered women and their children. A former fashion model, at the young age of 22 she founded "Inner City-Inner Beauty Productions," an image and self-improvement organization geared towards youth ages 5 - 18 years of age residing in the depressed Southeast Corridor of Washington, D.C.  Additionally, she was the co-creator of the Ms. Juneteenth Inner Beauty Pageant based in San Francisco, California. Currently, she serves as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for Global Exchange, an international human rights and education organization.


 

Shrryl A. Jones, Vice President and Director of Operations

Shrryl Jones’ background covers over twenty-seven years of IT training and application development and maintenance.  Ms. Jones’ has served as founder of modeling organizations and organized several fund-raising fashion show events.  She focuses on self-motivation and empowerment for her models.   While attending the University of Maryland, Ms. Jones was the co-founder of “Black Odyssey” a modeling organization still in existence at the College Park campus.  She also co-founded another modeling organization, which produced models from the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Ms. Jones was on the pilot study at the U.S. Senate Computer for their Computer-Based Training Pilot program. 

She moved on to serve as the main trainer in the Systems Programming Department for Blue Cross Blue Shield of the National Capital Area (Care First).  Ms. Jones has currently served as a Functional Consultant/Trainer for the District of Columbia Public School System. The same self-motivation and empowerment skills used for the modeling organizations developed, Ms. Jones uses in her training discipline.  With over 25 years of IT experience, Ms. Jones has been an IT consultant for the past 12 years.


 

Shelly Bradford-Bell, Director of Communications

Shelley Bradford-Bell. CEO and President of SBB Global Communications Inc., is a veteran public executive, community organizer, fund developer and public relations and promotions consultant. She served as Executive Director of the Bayview Opera House for 10 years. Shelley founded SBB Global Communications in 1983, specializing organizational development and communications programming for non profit organizations, and corporate community relations programs. Corporate clients have included: Lennar Urban, Coca Cola, Bank of the Orient, Bank of America, Albertsons, Colossal Graphics, and many others.

Internationally, Shelley works with arts organizations in Paris and Africa. She designs programs which build global connections between communities relative to cultural heritage in the arts, health, environmental justice, and economic development. San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown appointed Shelley to a four year term (2002 to 2006) on the San Francisco Planning Commission where she served two years as President. She also served from 1999 to 2002, as a Commissioner and Vice President to the Commission on the Environment. Shelley currently has offices in San Francisco, New York and Paris providing communications planning, fund development, and organization assessment consulting for non-profits and small to mid-size businesses.


 

Sheba Brown, Director of Fashion & Entertainment

Educator, innovator, Sheba Brown also is known for her talents as a producer, choreographer, entertainer, actor, model, and stylist. She became a member of AFTRA (American Federation of Radio and Television Artists), and SAG, the Screen Actors Guild Union, after appearing in many television and industrials, commercials and films while her  innovativeness and diverse skills in entertainment, cosmetology and makeup enabled her to work behind-the-scenes with many sports, political and entertainment notables.  

In 1981 she wrote, choreographed, performed and executive produced “The Best of Sheba” a theatrical music revue, which earned her high acclaim in Washington DC.  She earned rave reviews again in 1982 with her production called “Red & White Cupids Delight”, which was filmed and aired by Channel 32’s show, Profiles. 

Awarded many titles and honors ranging from, Miss Silver Spring, International Dream Girl, Mrs. Maryland America 2nd Runner up and Ms. Photogenic, she has also performed internationally. 

An entrepreneur at heart, Ms. Brown founded Sheba Productions, a full service entertainment, fashion and talent production company offering education and Sheba's Collections, a fashion and cosmetic business. Her background includes positions as Casting Manager, Lead Stylist for Haggerty & Associates Pageantry, and Executive Events Director for numerous events held throughout the United States and abroad.


 

Jean Johnson, Director of Event Planning

Ms. Johnson has been involved in the convention-planning arena for a number of years.  Having recently served as Meeting Coordinator for a national health care organization, she served as the primary liaison interacting with hotel representatives, service vendors and conference attendees. She has dealt with all aspects of conference development from beginning to closure.

Currently, Ms. Johnson is pursuing her interest in holistic health and healing by attending seminars, exhibits and exposing herself to current practitioners in the holistic health field. She expects to take instruction in reflexology in the very near future.
